Barbara Ann (Werner) Hope

Barbara Hope (Werner) brought light and laughter to moments spent with family
and friends.
Her life’s journey was spent in the East London & Thorndale area. Barb
participated in and enjoyed many things …Sommerville Ladies Fastball, bowling
teams, teaching ceramics, working with the Thorndale Fair board as secretary,
serving as secretary of the West Nissouri Manor board, Thorndale Women’s
Institute and being an active community member in many other Thorndale area
events.
Barb enjoyed monthly euchre get togethers with her longtime girlfriends,
watching baseball, summers at Turnbulls Grove Grand Bend, and having laughs
with her friends at lunch or on “girls weekends”. She enjoyed life and was always
there to help out whether family or a friend needed her - a great MOM and a
good friend.
Barb and her husband Bob were married 63 years. They loved to go for drives
and let the roads take them on a new adventure, over the years also enjoying
time spent on cross Canada trailer trips, and short trips with good friends. Old
cars and car shows were a shared passion of Barb and Bob for many years.
Barb is survived by daughters Jan Hope (Gerry Cameron) and Jackie Goarley
(Jim), & her sister Edna May Rodwell. Predeceased by her husband Bob (2020),
Mother Edna (1991) & Father Kirvin Werner (1962).
Barb had a special relationship with each of her grandchildren, she will be
missed greatly by Michael Gall, Amanda Gall, Ellise Paltser, John Goarley. She
was “GG Barb” to great grandchildren Ingrid and Edith Paltser.
Jan & Jackie will always admire the strength and enjoyment Barb found every
day in her life. She was a great lady.
Many heartfelt thanks to the staff of the St. Marys Memorial Hospital for their
exemplary care and kindness to our Mom and family in such a difficult time.
Due to Covid-19 a celebration of life will held in the spring.
