Cornelius "Larry" Lawrence Poortinga

Poortinga, Larry - Peacefully passed away on Monday, May 10th with his wife and girls by his side after a long battle with brain cancer.  Loving husband and best friend of Charlene for 38 years.  Devoted father of Jennifer (DJ) and Rachel (Rob).   Cherished and proud grandfather of Hayden, Jaxon, Jacob and Zoey.  Loving son of Andy and Rose and mother-in-law Madeleine Burson.  Brother to Diane (Greg), and Peter (Sandy). Predeceased by Randy (Carolyn) and Calvin.  Dear brother-in-law to Chris (Brian).  Lovingly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, and friends. Larry was employed at Firestone Textiles for 25 years.  He enjoyed sports and outdoor activities.  Larry was an avid reader who always had a book by his side. We would like to thank the medical teams and everyone who has helped us on this journey. Family will be receiving guests from 2:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 23rd, 2021 at the Covenant Christian Reformed Church, 410 Landsdowne Avenue Woodstock ON.
