WATSON, E. Anne – It is with great sadness we announce Anne’s passing at the age of 69 at the Woodstock Hospital after a courageous struggle with cancer. She will be dearly missed by good friends Carl and Lynn Freeland, Jacquie Bouchard, Emilianna (Cosimo) Commisso and Marlene (Andy) Vleuten all of Woodstock, Patricia Nau of Spain and Gord (Linda) Miller of Flamborough. Anne valued her friends and the time they spent together. She will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, sense of humour and quick wit. A talented dressmaker, Anne appreciated her customers and worked tirelessly to produce the clothing and costumes they desired. Though she ha d several industrial jobs (uniforms, Serta-Pak and even wrestling gear) her heart was in the design and sewing of dance and skating costumes, wedding gowns and prom dresses (painstakingly hand embroidered, beaded, and embellished). The highlight of her career was a stint at the Stratford Festival Theatre costume department. Special thanks of gratitude to the nurses, doctors, and coordinator of unit 2200 (Palliative care) at Woodstock Hospital for their exemplary, compassionate care. Thanks also to helpful and caring homecare and home nursing staff and the doctors and nurses at LRCP who buoyed Anne’s Spirits throughout treatments. Cremation has taken place. In keeping with Anne’s wishes and COVID protocol there will be no funeral service. If desired, memorial contributions to Oxford County Animal Rescue or the National Conservancy of Canada would be appreciated and may be arranged through the Brock and Visser Funeral Home.
