Guustaaf "Gus" van Straten

van Straten, Guustaaf – Entered into his eternal sabbath rest at his residence on Sunday, January 29, 2023 at the age of 84, surrounded by his wife and his children. Beloved husband of Fenny van Straten (nee De Vries). Cherished father of Erika (Dave) Banninga of Welland, Marcel (Bev) van Straten of Muir, John (Susan) van Straten of Woodstock, Marian (Dave) Schelhaas of Innerkip, Theresa van Straten of Woodstock, Ben (Jen) van Straten of Lindsay, and James (Stephanie) van Straten of St. Thomas. Proud Opa of 17 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Dear brother of the late Nelly (late Dick), Henk (late Ali), Jenny (John), Herman (Ena), Jean (Bart), and Bill (Hinke); and brother in law to Janny,  Dineke (Hans), and Bertha of The Netherlands. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Gus enjoyed serving the Marantha Friendship group for many years. Friends are invited to join the family at the Maranatha Christian Reformed Church for visitations on Thursday, February 2nd, from 2:00 - 4:00 pm and from 6:00 - 8:00 pm. The Funeral service is being held at Maranatha Christian Reformed Church on Friday, February 3rd, at 11:00 am. If desired, memorial contributions to the Woodstock Christian School, or World Renew may be arranged through the Brock and Visser Funeral Home.
