Hazel Powell Obituary

POWELL, Hazel Grace (Webber) – Hazel suffered a stroke and passed away shortly after on April 21, 2021. Beloved mother of Sharon Burritt (Royal), Kent Powell (Mary), and Sheila Powell (David Tweddell). Hazel loved her grandchildren with all of her heart - Zach Powell, Drew and Brooklyn Burritt and Alec and Sophie Tweddell. She is predeceased by her sister Diana Beacham and her twin brother Harvey Webber. She was a dear aunt to Warren, Scott, Mark, Kerry and Steve. Hazel devoted her life to the service of others. She was a nurse and nursing instructor for 40 years, in Peterborough, Kingston, Charlottetown and Ingersoll. Hazel was an avid community volunteer with organizations including: St. David’s United Church, the Alzheimer Society, Meals on Wheels and the Rotary Club. Hazel will be greatly missed by the many friends who were her second family. A private family interment will take place in Bowmanville, Ontario with a celebration of life service at a later date. If desired memorial donations can made to St. David’s United Church, the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of personal choice and may be arranged through the Brock and Visser Funeral Home (519-539-0004).
