Keith Deline Jr. Obituary

DELINE, Keith - It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Keith (Joe) Frank Deline Jr on May 1st in his 83rd year.  Loving husband of Sharon for 35 years, dedicated father to Kelly Deline (David, Daryl), Tina Wolak (Chris), and Tracey Deline (Galen).  Predeceased by step son Ken Schlimme in 2017.  Survived by sister-in-law Edna Austin (Robert).  Doting grandfather to Lindsay Kaufman, Vanessa Bristow (Steve), Kaley Lorincz (Curtis Brehn) and Bradley Lorincz, and great-grandfather to Isabella Tribble and Phoenix Bristow.  Brother to Laura Robinson (Roy), and predeceased by sisters Patsy McKay (Jim), and Doreen Batchelor (Bill).  A kid at heart, he was beloved ‘Uncle Joe’ to his nieces and nephews and was usually instigating a few shenanigans with them.  Joe loved life.  He was gregarious and fun.  He was quick with a joke or a story, and always made a seat at whatever table he was at. Having three daughters didn’t prevent him from ensuring they played baseball, hockey, had a car racing set and a variety of pets.  Joe was a prolific musician and will be remembered for his trumpet playing in his early years as a member of The Imperials marching band, and his own band The Swing Kings.  Deeply respectful of military service, Joe was a long-time member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 55 and volunteered his time in the kitchen and at other events.  Joe was the solo trumpeter and would play The Last Post  at the Woodstock cenotaph on Remembrance Day for many years.  At Joe’s request there will be no service and cremation has taken place.  In lieu of flowers, donations can make at Parkinson Canada, Diabetes Canada or Branch 55 Royal Canadian Legion. Please join us to raise a glass to Joe at the Legion, 642 Dundas St., Woodstock, on Saturday, June 18th from 1:30-4:30 pm.
