Norma (Concepcion) Vasquez

Vasquez, Norma (nee Concepcion) – Passed away peacefully with the love of her family by her side on Friday, November 6, 2020 at the Woodstock Hospital in her 81st year.  Beloved wife of Eufemio Vasquez. Devoted and loved mother of Dahlia (Harold) Burt-Gerrans, Noel (Sandra) Vasquez, Jocelyn (Marcel) Poernbacher and Daisy (Jeff) Thorpe. Cherished Grandmother of Cassandra (Max) Boone, Derek Burt-Gerrans, Kyle Burt-Gerrans (Rachel Steger), Nora Thorpe, Vanessa Vasquez, Breanne Poernbacher and Nolan Thorpe. Proud great grandmother of Kieran Burt-Gerrans. Dear sister of Gloria Ramos Concepcion, her brothers, Rolando Ramos Concepcion and Ricardo Ramos Concepcion. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and extended family members. Predeceased by her father Petronio Concepcion, her mother Primitiva Ramos Concepcion, her sister Leticia Concepcion Tagala and her brother Herminio Ramos Concepcion. Norma was a natural caregiver, whether it be cooking a meal for her friends and family, tending to her plants in the garden or taking care of her grandchildren and her pond of koi fish. “Our Lola/Nay (Grandma/Mom) will forever be remembered for being small in stature, but large in spirit.”

Friends and relatives are invited to join the family on Wednesday, November 11th, 2020 from 6:00-8:00 PM at the Brock and Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock.  A Private family service will be taking place at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish with an Interment to follow at the St. Mary’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated and may be arranged through the Funeral Home.
