McDONALD, Shirley Grace – Passed away due to complications of Covid-19 on Thursday April 21st 2022.  Shirley Grace McDonald (nee Johnson) of Woodstock in her 87th year.  Beloved wife of the late Benjamin “Ben” Franklin McDonald (2010).  Loved mother of Lynda (Howard) Deline, Patti McDonald, Jim (Corry Gunn) McDonald, and Dave (Erin) McDonald.  Cherished grandmother of  Steve (Chantelle) , Brad (Arielle), and Eric (Cheri);  Misty (Dana), Katelyn (Matt) and Tyler (Erica), Mackenzie (Vanessa), Spencer and Abbey;  Owen (Sarah) and Grace (Kobe), and great grandmother  to Taylin, Olivia, Lola, Ben, Eli, Vanessa, Gabe, Izzy, Jase, Ryder, Hunter and Hayden.  Dear sister of Ron (Kerry McCool) Johnson, Allan (Jackie) Johnson, Carol (David) Oliver and sister-in-law to Joyce (Ed) Swanson and Dot (Mike) Duchnicki.  Predeceased by her brother Arnold Johnson, parents Vera and Lloyd Johnson, and sisters-in-law Evangie (Ron) Lechelt and Ellenor (Kus) Hercun. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.. Shirley was a lifelong member of St. David’s United Church Women, was employed with Food Rite Restaurant and later Hudson Department Store in Woodstock for many years. After her children were grown, Shirley worked in a local yarn shop, The Loom Room, knitting on consignment and advising local knitters. She was a member of the Thursday morning ladies bowling league, loved curling and was an avid knitter all her life. When the children were growing up, Shirley and Ben enjoyed summer family vacations in Dryden. Later in life, she and Ben camped many summers at Pittock Conservation area.  She was the number one sports fan of all her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Shirley loved to play cards, and participated in many card groups in her life.  If desired, contributions to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario, the Canadian Cancer Society, or Sakura House would be appreciated.  Friends may call at the Brock and Visser Funeral Home , 845 Devonshire Ave Woodstock (519-539-0004) on Sunday April 24th 2022 from 1-4 pm and again Monday April 25th 2022 from 10-10:45 am.  The service will be held in the funeral home chapel Monday at 11:00 am. The family have asked that all attendees please wear a mask.  Online condolences may be sent and viewed at brockandvisser.com
