VANDERMEER, Sjerp – In His perfect timing our Father called home His son Sjerp VanderMeer. Sjerp passed away peacefully at Peoplecare in Tavistock, with the love of his family by his side on Monday, January 16th, 2023, in his 85th year. Beloved husband of Edna (nee Sikma) VanderMeer. Loving father of Gordon (Diana), Eleanor Vroom, Barb (Rick) VanRooyen, Nancy (Greg) Bouwers. Cherished Pake of Jordon (Bridgette), Tim (Alyssa), Karres, Marita (Brandon), Tyrel, Cassandra (Josh), Miranda, Brent, Erica, Brittney, Karley (Iain), Valerie (Zach), Danielle and Jessica. Dear great Pake (GP) of Liam, Lillian, Clara, Ben, Emma, Wade, Jonah, and Theo. Sjerp was actively involved with his church, sat on the school board of both Christian schools, and sang for many years in the church choir also the Men of praise choir. Sjerp enjoyed a 40-year career at Stratford Farm Equipment as part owner and in sales. Friends are invited to join the family at Covenant Christian Reformed Church on Friday, January 20th, 2023, from 6 to 8 pm. There will be a private family interment on Saturday before the service. The funeral service will be held Saturday at the church at 1:00 pm. As family we would like to thank the staff and residence at Cederview Retirement Home, Woodstock Hospital, People Care Tavistock, and family. Thank you to Dr. Michelle Andersen-Kay for her wonderful care.
