Obituary

William "Bill" James Brown, a generous and loyal man, passed away on April 28, 2023, in Woodstock, Ontario at 74 years of age. Born on January 1, 1949, in Paris, Ontario.

Bill was a devoted husband to the late Robin Brown, who passed away in 2009. Together, they raised two loving children, Mary (John) Dziubinski and James Brown. Bill was a proud Poppy to his grandchildren, Eric, Adam, Nolan, and Wade. He was the brother of the late Frances Schatz is survived by her husband Frank Schatz and also survived by his niece Anita and nephew Bill.


Born in Paris, Ontario, Bill developed a strong work ethic that would carry him throughout his life. He has a successful career as a team lead at the CAMI plant, where he was known for his dedication and leadership skills. Bill's commitment to his work was evident in the respect and admiration he earned from his colleagues.

Outside of work, Bill had a wide range of interests that showcased his love for life and his community. He enjoyed card playing with friends and family.  Bill also had a passion for farming, spending many years working the land in Princeton, Ontario.

Bill's love for music led him to join the Men's Choir in Richwood, Ontario, where he shared his beautiful voice with others. His involvement in the choir not only brought joy to those who heard him sing but also provided Bill with a sense of camaraderie and friendship.

As an active member of the community, Bill was a devoted parishioner at Old St. Paul's Anglican Church. His faith was a guiding force in his life, and he was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. Bill's generous spirit and unwavering commitment to his community will be dearly missed.

William "Bill" James Brown will be lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His unwavering strength, kindness, and love for his family and community will live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.

Visitation will take place on Friday May 5, 2023 from 10 am- 11 am at Old St. Paul’s Anglican Church (723 Dundas St.)  followed by a Memorial Service at 11 am. Inurnment at Anglican Cemetery to follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in Bill's memory to the Parkinson’s Foundation or Autism Canada.
