During this time, the health, safety and well-being of our families, guests and staff is our top priority. With the growing concerns over COVID-19 in our region, we want to assure you that we are committed and prepared to safely care for the families we serve during this pandemic.
At this time, Brock and Visser Funeral Home, is continuing to hold services however, we are asking our families to have a private service to limit the size of crowds. If you wish to have a public service in the future for friends, then we would accommodate that later at no extra charge.
All public health officials agree that the best way to prevent the spread of COVID-19 is to follow typical flu precautions. These include the following:
- Wash your hands often with soap and water or alcohol-based hand sanitizer (sanitizers available throughout the funeral home)
- Sneeze and cough into your sleeve
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth
- Avoid contact with people who are sick
- Stay home if you are sick
We ask if you have been traveling or have been outside of Canada recently that you abide the Government recommendation to self quarantine for 14 days, and not attend any services or visitations at the funeral home. We understand that it can be difficult to miss a loved one’s funeral and as a result we do offer audio recordings for services on CD that can be listened to in the comfort of your own home.
If you are attending a service at the funeral home, we do ask that you do your best to continue to practice social distancing and limit any forms of physical contact. This includes shaking hands, hugging, and kissing.
We are being extra diligent in keeping up with the complete disinfection and sanitation of our facilities, especially in areas most frequently visited by our guests. Furthermore, please note that the CDC has assured us there is currently no known risk directly related with being in the same room of a body of someone who died of COVID-19 while attending a funeral or visitation.
During this time, Brock and Visser Funeral Home may be limiting our staff and business hours to limit the risk of infection. We are also trying to limit the amount of non-essential meetings. Please understand that we will be available 24 hours a day by phone should you require any need of immediate assistance.
In brief, the health and safety of our families and staff are our number one priority during this time and we are doing our very best to keep up with the most recent procedures and protocols recommended by health professionals with regards to COVID-19.
